There are collateral ligaments in several joints in the body. For example carpus (wrist), tarsus (ankle), knee, elbow. Trauma can result in rupture of these ligaments and the consequence is joint instability, pain, lameness and loss of function. Here at VSO we repair these ligaments using anchors just like in human medicine. The fee for these injuries varies with the degree of severity and depends on how many ligaments have to be repaired (Range from NOK 20 000.- to 30 000,- and includes x-rays taken before and after surgery, IV catheter, general anesthesia, pre- and post-op pain medication, post-operative bandage and collar. Not included in this fee is any follow up appointments as most clients choose to have these done at their local veterinarian. Bandages will have to be changed and can also be done at your local veterinarian.
